“My Dear Melancholy” has been out for about a week now, and it has been receiving all types of praise from fans and critiques. The project is debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 and people continue to dissect which songs is Abel talking about his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez on. One thing for certain is whatever pain Weeknd went through, he channeled it for the effort and it came out great.
Today he pulled up with a short film for the project. Titled after the fourth track on the EP. Shot on grainy, lo-fi film stock, the short film follows The Weeknd into a makeshift studio for the recording of the song it’s named after, intercut with audio clips of conversations from the singer’s collaborators detailing some of the sonic decisions that went into the final product and discussing his creative appeal.
