All eyes are on the September issue of Vogue, which features Beyoncé on the cover and was shot by 23-year-old Tyler Mitchell, the first African-American photographer of the cover in the history of the publication. With the news, reports stated the LEMONADE singer handpicked the photographer, however, it was Anna Wintour and Raul Martinez, Corporate Creative Director of Condé Nast, who brought the young artist into the fold.
Yesterday (Monday), Mitchell took to his Twitter account to clarify that it was Anna Wintour and Raul Martinez — Conde Nast’s Corporate Creative Director– who proposed and hired him for the shoot.
“The Truth is, Raul Martinez and Anna Wintour, proposed and hire me for the Vogue shoot and Beyonce quickly agreed,” Mitchell Tweeted.
