Rihanna has been declared persona non grata by a group of a religious organization in Senegal, who accused the singer of intending to promote homosexuality in collusion with the Freemasons.
Rihanna is supposed to go to Senegal tomorrow to take part in a Global Partnership for Education event. However, religious leaders in the African Nation are trying to block her entry because they believe Rihanna is Illuminati and is coming to promote their business.
“Rihanna doesn’t hide it: she’s part of the Illuminati, a branch of Freemasons,” said Cheikh Oumar Diagne, a spokesman for a coalition of 30 Muslim religious groups in the 90 percent Muslim nation.
There had been a Freemason event scheduled in Senegal this weekend. So the rumor started that Rihanna, who’s an Ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education, was really there for the gathering. That event has been canceled but the Barbadian pop star remains suspect in the eyes of the coalition.
Religious organisations are powerful in Senegal, which is over 90% Muslim but is well known for being a tolerant country, where Muslims and Christians celebrate their festivals together.
The Global Partnership for Education is trying to raise funds for the education of the poorest, most vulnerable children in 65 countries. The GPE has an ambition to reach $2bn a year by 2020 and replicate the successes achieved in global health.
