Iggy Azalea reveals the release date for her sophomore album, “Digital Distortion.”
Iggy Azalea’s new single for Digital Distortion, “Team,” hasn’t quite been able to capture the same success as her debut album singles “Fancy” and “Beg For It.” Nonetheless the Australian-born artist is persevering on, recently announcing a release date for her sophomore album.
During a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the release date for Digital Distortion was revealed. The album will be released via Def Jam on June 24th. Iggy speaks with the publication about getting back in the studio with her D.R.U.G.S. collaborators, whom she worked with prior to popping off in the U.S.
She says of working with D.R.U.G.S. again, “I just felt like they really understood me so I went back to working with my friends.” She continued to expand on the sound of her sophomore album, “It’s harder than my debut – more aggressive. It’s a little bit darker and moodier and there’s a bit more of a throwback to some of my older mixtape sounds. But it’s got electronic influences used in a rap way. My version of rap is alway always controversial.”
Look out for it next month.
